Home Repair

The USDA offers a program in Vermilion County for Home Repair for individuals who fall into the low income category.  This program offers grant and/or loan funding for home repairs that the individual could not afford on their own. 

Repairs eligible for these funds are:

- New Roof
- New Siding
- New Windows
- Foundation Repairs
- New Kitchen Cabinets
- New Septic System
- New Furnace / AC

(Other qualifying repairs include those needed to remove a health hazard from the home, as well as cosmetic improvements if they are needed). 

The maximum loan amount is $20,000 at a %1.00 interest rate.  The maximum grant amount is $7,500, which is a lifetime limit.
