Infrastructure
The Hoopeston Infrastructure committee has identified
"Hoopeston has modern infrastructure" as a high priority goal.
To reach this goal the committee is working with the City water department to
conduct repairs of the water storage tanks and to correct the drainage problems
in the City.
The committee is currently investigating grant possibilities to alleviate the
City's drainage problems. The committee is investigating solutions to the
flooding problems through the process of reviewing previous engineering studies
and through analysis of the areas in the community that receive heavy flooding.
"As a VISTA volunteer for the City of Hoopeston I am working to build the capacity of Hoopeston residents to improve and enhance their personal lives and the community as a whole. If you are interested in being involved in helping to better the quality of life in Hoopeston through a variety of community development activities please contact me in the Chamber and Economic Development Office at 217-283-7873."
