McFarland Museum

The McFarland Museum contains a private collection of early American agricultural memorabilia. The museum is open by appointment only. Please contact Don McFarland at 217-283-7120 to set up a tour through the history of the early American agricultural industry.


Artistic Repertory Theatre

Artistic Repertory Theatre (ART) was founded in the spring of 2004 to bring quality community theatre to East Central Illinois. The tentative 2008 schedule includes Cinderella (June), Music Man Jr. (July) featuring children and teens, Family Wedding (Interactive dinner theater in early fall 2008). All performances will take place at the Hoopeston Civic Center. Performances for 2008 include Cinderella and Music Man Junior. Performances for Cinderella are planned for June 27, 28, and 29 and performances for Music Man Junior are planned for July 25, 26, and 27. The academy will also have a dance recital on June 7th and 8th at the Hoopeston Area High School Auditorium. The June 7th performance will begin at 7pm and the June 8th performance will begin at 3pm.


Lorraine Theater

The historic Lorraine Theater built in 1922 provides residents and visitors with more than the latest movie. Noted for its incredible sound system, the Lorraine Theater provides visitors with a movie-viewing experience that can’t be beat. The Lorraine Theater is the only eight-channel system outside of Chicago, which has the acoustical power equivalent to more than 12 symphony orchestras.
